As the first day of Advent ushers in the Christmas season, Yolk Coffee and Breakfast makes December in Cebu even more festive with sumptuous meals complemented by light cocktails.
Starting December 1 and all throughout the month, a set course for groups of two or more with starters, side and main dishes, plus desserts is available for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner and the hours in between.
Chef Pepin Ordoña presents a new Yolk menu for December, a holiday-inspired meal of garlic bread, garden salad, a choice of beef stew in red wine sauce or sausage platter, fruits of the season, and a glass of Bellini.
“In some countries like the US and Singapore, people sleep in on weekends, go out for brunch, and have a light Mimosa or some other cocktail with their meal. We’re offering a similar thing here in Yolk starting December 1,” he said.
Yolk Coffee boozy brunch
The new course, which Chef Pepin calls the Boozey Brunch since it comes with light cocktails, will be made available at Yolk not just for brunch but throughout the day and not just on weekends but for the whole month.
Majority of people who work in call centers in Cebu do not follow the regular 8-5 work schedule and their first meal of the day could happen in the afternoon. Mindful of this, Yolk serves breakfast all day.
Ordoña and his wife started Yolk with some friends after coming home from Singapore where they had worked for seven years.
In a place where they were far away from family, Chef Pepin said it had been a ritual to have Saturday and Sunday brunches with friends, adding they decided to put up Yolk to provide Cebuanos a venue where they can enjoy a similar experience.
Yolk is located on Tres Borces Street in Cebu City (check location) and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, except on Mondays.
