At a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on December 4, 2021, Frederick Go, President and CEO of Robinsons Land Corporation, personally turned over a 35-foot tree to the Cebu City Government in the presence of Mayor Mike Rama, Vice Mayor Dondon Hontiveros, Cebu City Councilors, Cebu City Government Department Heads, and Robinsons Malls’ employees. The Christmas Tree now stands in Plaza Independencia.
In his speech, Go, a Cebuano, mentioned that the Christmas tree is a symbol of hope, of the birth of Christ, and His love for all of us. He also added that Robinsons Land and Nustar will always be supportive of the projects of the City of Cebu.
According to Mayor Rama, he wishes that even in the midst of the pandemic Cebuanos will continue to remember to move forward “Padayun sa Gugma, Pagsalig, ugPaglaum” (love, faith, and hope).
