Handmade shoes and bags, beautiful art pillows, novelty fabric, fashion accessories, and home accents curated by renowned Cebuano fashion designer Philip Rodriguez are available in the NEST Home and Fabrique Shop.
The shop, which opened yesterday, is located on 38 Gorordo Avenue, beside Ramen Kamekichi.
“NEST is the ideal shopping destination or distinct gift items. It is a special collaboration of innovative artist-entrepreneurs where fashion meets home ware,” the company said in a statement.
In curating products for the shop, Rodriguez said he is on the lookout for “anything Filipino but very contemporary.”
Among the items sold in the shop are beautifully crafted furniture made of denim and driftwood and done by a group of women in northern Cebu.
“We want more artisan crafts,” Rodriguez said, “to preserve our heritage.”
Also available in the store are accessories made of sea glass. “These are broken glass that you see it in the shoreline and they polish it and with the help of the Dutch government they train the women to turn it into jewelry accessories,” he said.
The items, along with the artworks that are displayed, will be regularly updated.
“We will be regularly changing the theme. Every season there will be new personalities coming in whom we will highlight,” he said.
“NEST takes pride in promoting the integrity of Filipino creativity and supporting the advocacy of the Filipino artist by providing an accessible and fitting venue to showcase their works of art,” the company said.
NEST is open 11 am to 7 pm on Mondays to Saturdays. For more information, you can contact the shop at +6332 231 2590.
