From the crunchy delicious lechon belly and grilled tuna panga of Kuzina Guadalupe to the must-try baked scallops of Seabu, top dishes of key vendors in Sugbo Mercado are now available in Cafe Marco as part of its Sugbusog Culinary Journey.

In this year’s edition of the annual food event, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu collaborated with Sugbu Mercado to make available favorite Cebuano dishes at the famed food market. These will be on top of the restaurant’s international buffet spread both for lunch and dinner. During dinner, however, a featured Sugbu Mercado vendor will prepare its specialty dishes or desserts.

“When I first moved here 2 and 1/2 years ago, one of the first places I went to eat was at Sugbo Mercado. I love that you could go around and pick up all the local food,” said Marco Polo Plaza General Manager Brian Connelly.

“These folks who make these food really are passionate about their products and that’s what we are about here at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. We are passionate about whatever we do – food and beverage, rooms, we are passionate because we love serving our guests and making people happy,” Connelly said during the opening of the event Wednesday night.

The featured food vendors include Kuzina Guadalupe, Seabu, Ally Mango, UMA, Skweez, and Swirl.

Apart from the scallops, Seabu is also famed for its crispy crablets. UMA, meanwhile, is known for its grilled native chicken and their signature dish tinuom. For desserts, indulge in the mango shake of Ally Mango, soft serve ice cream topped with boba or mango tidbits from Swirl, and fresh fruit juices and smoothies from skweez.

The Sugbusog and Sugbo Mercado collaboration runs until January 20. The rates are P1,300 inclusive of Cooler Drinks for lunch and P1,600 inclusive of Cooler Drinks for dinner.
