Marco Polo Plaza Cebu kicked off the Festive Season last November 14 with an online tree lighting in partnership with GMA Regional TV.
“The last 14 years, we have celebrated our Tree Lighting every year as our way to signify the start of the Festive Season. This year is no different, despite the fact that there is a COVID pandemic. We will continue to be strong and resolved in celebrating these important days with this year’s theme, Christmas As Always,” said Marco Polo Plaza General Manager Brian Connelly during the online event.
The ceremony started with a heart-warming song from Asia’s Pop Diva and GMA Talent Julie Anne San Jose, followed with the blessing of the tree by Msgr. Jim Gorre. Connelly then turned over last year’s donations amounting to P302,558.25 to Ann Marie Tan, Station Manager of GMA Regional TV Central and Eastern Visayas and Amabelle Russiana, GMA Kapuso Foundation Regional Coordinator.
Christmas is truly the season of giving. Through the partnership of Marco Polo Plaza and GMA Kapuso Foundation, a total of P1,846,739.82 in donations have already been gathered to help support various projects of GMA Kapuso Foundation such as the Unang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan Project, Give-A-Gift Project and many more. Vice President and Head of GMA Regional TV Oliver Amoroso thanked the Cebuanos for this continued support.
Share the joy of the season by donating to the Tree of Hope for only P200 per Christmas ball until January 6, 2021. All proceeds will be given to GMA Kapuso Foundation – one of the most accomplished non-government organizations in the Philippines whose mission is to uplift the lives of underprivileged Filipinos.
