The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Felix Taguiam was hailed as one of the Most Outstanding Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Volunteer in Central Visayas by the Regional Development Council (RDC) 7.

The search involved those who have volunteered and made significant contributions in addressing the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Felix Taguiam was recognized last December 7 for initiating the COVID-19 Pandemic Solidarity Fund of the CCCI to assist the medical and non-medical frontliners and communities in Cebu through distribution of food packs, manufacturing of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and donation of COVID-19 essential supplies.

Also awarded were two other individuals: teacher Remus Mariña for initiating a donation drive for stranded teachers and students; and Jose Mari Gotiangco for leading the funding and innovation of improvised face shields, and will represent Central Visayas in the national search.

The national winner for the Most Outstanding COVID-19 volunteer will be awarded by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency before the year ends.
