A large and bright display, long battery life, water resistance, and competitive pricing make the DIZO Watch 2 an excellent option if you want a smartwatch with health and activity tracking.

DIZO is the first partner brand of realme as part of its TechLife ecosystem. It entered the Philippine market with a formidable lineup of audio products that we will feature later and the DIZO Watch 2.

I’ve been using the DIZO Watch 2 for two weeks now and for its price, it tops other smartwatches in its segment and even those priced much higher.

BEAUTIFUL DISPLAY. The DIZO Watch 2 has a large and bright display that’s clear even in the sun and under bright lights.

The watch has a good build quality – it’s sturdy and yet light enough that it isn’t a distraction to wear. The company said it’s made of sturdy zinc alloy, which is often used for car parts. It has a 150mm to 215mm adjustable strap length for a comfortable fit.

But what immediately stands out is the size of its display. The DIZO Watch 2 has a 1.69-inch full touchscreen TFT-LCD display. The watch is made of curved glass that makes for a beautiful finish.

The company said the display is rated 600 nits ultrabright, making it clearly visible even under the glare of the sun or a strong light. Nits is a measurement for brightness. Messages and notifications are very legible even when you’re out in the sun.

DIZO Watch 2 offers more than a hundred options for watch faces and what quickly grabbed my attention were one that had Hokusai’s “The Great Wave of Kanagawa,” one that had a mechanical steampunk vibe and an animated and colorful face. If you have a lot of time, you could play around with the many watch face designs organized in different categories.

The DIZO Watch 2 has 15 sports modes that will allow you to track your exercise or game. These include the typical tracker activities of running, walking, and biking to lifting weights, hiking, playing basketball, golf, among other activities.

Another standout feature is its waterproofing. It is rated 5ATM water resistant and with that rating, the company said you can swim or take a shower with it. It is waterproof up to 50 meters. This is an important feature for active people such as those who often go out on a run in today’s unpredictable weather when you could get drenched by sudden downpour.

SETTING UP. The DIZO Watch 2 is quick to set up, you just install its companion app, scan a QR Code, and then enter pertinent information and its ready to be worn.

The DIZO Watch 2 has a heart monitor and a blood oxygen level monitor. The heart monitor seems to track closely with the result of a pulse oximeter that I compared it with. It also has a sleep monitor that’s helpful to keep track of your sleep duration.

DIZO Watch 2 has a step counter to track your steps and monitor if you hit your daily goals.

The company said the watch lasts for 10 days of typical use and that’s the battery mileage that I got. It takes two hours to get a full charge.

To pair your watch with your phone, you need to install the DIZO app. The pairing is pretty straightforward and you just need to scan a QR code. You then set it up in your app and include such information as your height and weight as well as step goals. You can set the watch to remind you to stand for a set amount of time of inactivity as well as drink water.

You can receive and view your phone notifications in your DIZO Watch 2. You can also use it to control your music as well as a remote control for your camera.

For these features, the DIZO Watch 2 is sold at just P1,999 at the official DIZO shop on Lazada. If you’re looking for an activity tracker that also serves as a smartwatch, you’d do well to consider the DIZO Watch 2.
