The internationally renowned and prestigious American Ballet Theater Studio Company and award-winning Filipina classical pianist Cecile Licad will perform in Cebu for the first time on April 22 at the Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.

The Cebu show is part of a series of performances and follows the gala show at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater, Circuit Makati on April 20. On April 23, they will perform at the Ayala Malls Abreeza in Davao City on April 23.

The performance is part of the fundraising effort by Ayala Foundation, Ayala Malls, and STEPS Dance Studio for the benefit of the Center for Excellence in Public Elementary Education (CENTEX) program. An Ayala Foundation program, CENTEX aims to provide holistic, quality education to underprivileged children and at the same time hone their competencies in the areas of the arts, music and dance.

In a show that is expected to enthrall the Cebu audience, the performances will be headlined by a top notch group of exceptional young dancers that showcase a new generation of ABT Studio Company rising stars. Licad, an acclaimed pianist, will also do a special live performance for the first time since the pandemic.

At 6 pm, the ABT Studio Company and Licad will again perform but this time at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.

On April 21, select students from Cebu will be privileged to participate in a Masterclass led by Filipina prima ballerina and Artistic Director of the ABT Jacqueline Onassis School, Stella Abrera.

Sofia Zobel Elizalde said, “We’re beyond grateful for ABT’s unwavering support in this noble cause. Art transcends beyond language and culture, and there are countless talented young individuals who deserve to refine their gifts. This show is a testament to our shared mission of nurturing and developing the next generation of artists.”

Ayala Malls’ participation is an extension of its Bravo Filipino campaign which aims to celebrate local culture through the performing arts, fashion, food, and crafts.
