As the community grows within Cebu’s premier business districts, one of the priorities of developer Cebu Holdings Inc. (CHI) is the safety of the estate and its nearby areas.

The Cebu Business Park Fire Substation was opened yesterday at the Cebu Business Park (CBP) by the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 7, in coordination with CHI and the Cebu Business Park Association, Inc.

The 80-sqm structure along Leyte Loop is designed to house 12 firefighters working three shifts 24/7, to ensure that responders are available in case of emergencies.

The event was attended by Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Chief Jose Embang, Jr., Region 7 Director Felixberto Abrenica, Cebu City Fire Director Josephus Alburo and other senior and junior officers of the BFP. Also at the event were Cebu City Attorney Rey Gealon, Councilor Joel Garganera, and Cebu City Police Director Josefino Ligan.

In his message, Embang commended the opening of the new substation and expounded on the modernization plans of the BFP to better serve the people.

The sub-station will have two fire trucks on standby 24/7, including the city’s newly purchased aerial ladder fire truck. This state-of-the-art fire truck is equipped with a 1,500-liter capacity water tank and can reach 18 vertical floors. This is especially important in business districts such as CBP where most of the city’s high-rise buildings are located.

“For us at CHI, the safety of the people in our development is our primary concern. The opening of this new Cebu Business Park Fire Substation is a testament to that. This vision is realized because of the collaboration of CHI, the CBP association, the City government, and the BFP who will be manning the station,” said Jeanette Japzon, Corporate Communications Manager of CHI.

“We hope that we can all continue to be partners in helping make Cebu the ideal place to live, work and invest in,” Japzon said.

The fire station is located beside the police substation, also within the Cebu Business Park.

Cebu Business Park was developed by Ayala-led CHI, the region’s premier full line property developer of sustainable estates offering a diverse mix of quality residential and commercial developments that support local economic growth.
