Cebu is among the world’s best islands, along with such top destinations as the Maldives, Mykonos, Cook Islands, Bali, and Bora Bora, according to the Readers’ Choice Awards 2015 of Conde Nast Travel.

“The most densely populated island in the Philippines, Cebu is famous for its beaches, on the mainland as well as around many of the surrounding islands. Not as wild as Phuket in Thailand, Cebu City is more personal, with plenty of up-and-coming restaurants and shopping,” the magazine said in its listing of Cebu.

Cebu had a rating of 80.404. It is 1 of 3 Philippine destinations that made it to the list. Boracay Island was at 15th with a rating of 80.856.

Palawan topped this year’s list with its subterranean river attraction.
