They shape the dough right in front of your eyes into a symmetrical loop shaped like a knot and bake it in the oven while you wait.

As a result, you get your pretzels at Auntie Anne‘s in SM City Cebu fresh and hot. They’re crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and, in my case or at least the flavors I choose, sweet.

I used to ignore this pretzel shop before, but I was tempted to buy one just recently when I saw a member of the crew cut the dough and shape it into a pretzel before putting it in the oven.

I have been hooked ever since. The Auntine Anne’s crewmember I talked to said they bake only a few at a time because they don’t want the pretzels staying for more than 30 minutes at the shelf.

Aside from my favorite “Cinnamon Sugar,” Auntie Anne’s also sells specialty pretzels in flavors of Garlic, Sesame, Sour Cream and Onion, and Choco Chips at P55 each. You get three as a bundle treat for P155.

Premium pretzels come in Almond, Bacon Bits, Glazin’ Raisin, and Cinnamon Raisin for P60 each and for only P170 if you buy three.

They also have the original at P45 each.

Stix pretzels are made for dipping, in caramel, choco, cheddar or cream cheese. It’s P30 per cup for the original Stix pretzels and P35 for cinnamon sugar-flavored ones.

Auntie Anne’s, which opened on November 24, 2010, also serves coffee, Belgian choco, and cold drinks to go with your pretzel.
