Cebu condos are in for a do-over—the SM Home Design Series: The Essentials of Condo Living breaks away from Manila to host its well-received series of talks in the South’s busiest and brightest metropolis. SM Home invites Cebuanos to “Complete Your Home with SM Home” by featuring talented local designers to give in-depth, useful talks in maximizing and beautifying their modern condominium life. By listening to them, you will know where to look for the right Interior design services.
The Northwing Atrium of SM City Cebu will host this leg of the SM Home Design Series, to be held on Saturday and Sunday, February 24 and 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is a feast for all design-loving senses, because apart from the prepared talks, guests can view styled home vignettes—living room, kitchen, bedroom and dining room—decorated using SM Home pieces by the featured Cebuano designers themselves.
Each SM Home Design Series talk is meant to answer the most pressing decor and design issues of a starter condo owner.
Sessions
Philippine Institute of Interior Design Cebu Chapter member Ryan James Mantuhac, ID will help discerning condo owners decide whether to hire professional help with his talk, “Should I Hire An Interior Designer?” at 11 a.m.
At 12 noon, Janet Lo Lee, head designer of her eponymous Cebu-based studio will instruct guests on how to make good use of limited condo space in her talk Space Planning 101. Janet, known for her sophisticated and minimalist design specializes in residential, commercial and renovation projects.
At 1 p.m. Maybelline Te, interior and furniture designer and manufacturer, will give a talk about Finding and Perfecting Your Design Style. Suitable for first-time home decorators, the talk will impart wisdom on refining a homeowner’s design taste.
An interior designer specializing in the staging of model units and common areas for real estate developers, Hannah C. Lim, ID of HL Designs will discuss Space Saving Tips and Tricks, aimed to reveal secrets on keeping a condo spartan yet stylish. Her talk will start at 2 p.m.
A furniture designer and maker will help guests furnish the condo of their dreams with the talk Scale Away: Choosing Furniture for Small Spaces at 3 p.m. Kate Ngo, a specialist in wood furniture with a Master’s degree in design and craftsmanship will highlight the importance of scale, space and choosing fixtures that fit just right.
Finally, at 4 p.m., copywriter and advertising professor Carla Adlawan teams up with Boysen Paints for the day’s final talk, In Living Color: How to Infuse Personality Into Your Home with Paint & Color, giving guests an educated view on which shades to splash their homes with.
Registration for the event will start at 10 a.m., while all styled vignettes from the SM Home Design Series: The Essentials of Condo Living will remain at the SM City Cebu Northwing Atrium till March 8.
