The fluvial procession, when the miraculous image of the Sto. Niño is transported through the Mactan Channel, is a much-anticipated Sinulog event. This year, the procession will be held on Saturday, January 20.
One of the best places to view the annual event is at the Mandani Bay Boardwalk. Everyone is welcome to join the festivities at the Boardwalk. This is the third year that Mandani Bay is hosting the fluvial parade from the vantage point on the mainland, part of its participation in the Fiesta Señor and Sinulog celebrations.
Mandani Bay’s participation is also part of the City of Mandaue’s overall safety, security, and logistics program for the annual observance of the Feast of the Señor St. Niño.
Best view
The Mandani Bay development presents the best view of the galleon, which, this year, will be the Philippine Navy’s BRP Bagobo AT-293, bearing the image of the Holy Child and other seacraft, as it is an unobstructed stretch on the mainland bank of the Mactan Channel.
Gates open at 4:30 am. Sinulog street dancing, drum beaters and songs will engage guests as everyone waits for the procession to pass through.
Food will be available onsite. Concessionaires will have food booths serving a variety of meals and delicacies. Guests with invitations will be served breakfast.
The event at Mandani Bay will be aired live on Y101 with Jiggy Jr.’s Jiggy in the Morning.
