Cebu City council authorizes Labella to attend Mega Cebu board meetings.

A privilege speech by Councilor Raymond Garcia led to the Cebu City council voting, 11-6, to authorize Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella to attend the Metro Cebu Development Coordinating Board meetings. The speech was a reaction to Mayor Tomas Osmena’s announcement that he doesn’t want Cebu City to be a part of Mega Cebu. The resolution will authorize Vice Mayor Labella to represent the council and not Cebu City.

If we do not attend such discussions, then I fear that we will be left out in important discussions and plans outlined for our great city…No man is an island and in like manner, no city can solve its problems by itself. Cebu City Councilor Raymond Garcia.
